EnergyU Administrator Training

January 24, 2013

MEA will be providing EnergyU Administrator training, FREE of charge, to EnergyU Administrators. This training is being provided to ensure EnergyU Administrators have a good understanding of how to perform administrative functions after the upgrade to Version 8. While the functions of the LMS will remain the same, the steps to perform those functions will be slightly different based on the new user interface. (Remember what it was like when Microsoft redesigned Word and Excel — at first you didn’t know where to find things.) In addition, you will have added functionality for tracking, reporting, and certification management for your user training.

Our pledge to you:

  • Strive to provide greater value
  • Be understanding, open and transparent
  • Make migrating easy and efficient
  • Deliver exceptional customer service
  • Understand and anticipate needs
  • Limit interruptions for your company

Please make sure to visit the Events Calendar on the MEA website to register as soon as possible. Contact Laura Legel (651-289-9600 x106) for additional information.

EnergyU Upgrade – v8 Training Schedule Coming Soon

January 18, 2013

It’s been in the works for quite some time, and we are excited to announce that the EnergyU upgrade will be arriving this spring. EnergyU administrators will need to be familiar with how to perform their duties in the new upgraded environment PRIOR to the actual upgrade. To ensure a smooth transition, we will be offering free training in a variety of locations across the U.S. The preliminary schedule will be available on Monday, January 21. Please visit the event calendar on the MEA website, review the schedule, and register for the class that is most convenient for you. Right now, the schedule is subject to change – we need to have a sufficient number of participants to conduct the session, and if we have a large number of registrants we may need to add an additional day. Some locations will have computers for hands-on activities; at other locations you will be required to bring a laptop. In addition to classroom training, we will have online training available, and we will also be conducting webinars.

Please contact Laura Legel (651-289-9600 x106) with questions. We look forward to sharing the new features of EnergyU with you in the near future!

How long is a Certification Valid?

January 10, 2013

Each Certification is valid for a period of time. It could be anywhere from 6 months to 5 years. There are a number of places to find this information in our current version of EnergyU.

Click HERE to view PDF of Certification List.

We plan to upgrade EnergyU this spring. The Upgrade will change the way Certifications are handled. The first and probably most requested change will be that ALL training and testing Certifications and expiration dates will show up on a Certification Report – no manual entry required. The only Certifications that will still have to be manually entered will be Performance Evaluations.

The Upgrade will also provide the capability to send automatic notifications to your Users at 30, 60 and 90 days prior to the Certificate expiration, notifying them of the need to requalify. At 30 days, the course will automatically be reset and the User will be able to take the course.

In order for the notification feature to work properly, each User will need to have a correct email in their User profile. If your Users do not have the proper email, you can begin to make this change immediately.

These are just a few of the exciting changes coming in 2013. Please stay tuned and watch your email for more information.

Continuing Education Credits (CEUs)

January 3, 2013

What is a CEU?

CEUs are an internationally recognized system of documenting professional education with qualified providers. Check with your educational institute or professional organization to see how the CEUs you earn can be applied toward other educational programs and certifications.

You may earn CEUs by taking EnergyU courses/assessments. The amount of CEU credit is listed in the EnergyU Course Catalog. CEU’s are not automatically assigned — you need to request the CEU credits.

Requesting CEUs

To obtain CEUs for passing EnergyU online courses, complete and return THIS APPLICATION to MEA, attention Lucy Her (lucyh@midwestenergy.org). MEA will record and maintain your CEU transcripts for seven years. This gives you the opportunity to accumulate credits for current or future uses.
