Requalification Interval Change for TNG/KNT Welding Certificates

September 13, 2016

Welding is an important task that requires a performance evaluation every six months. After consulting with the Technical Training Committee, it was determined that the training and assessment requalification intervals did not have to match the performance evaluation interval, and could be extended past six months.

MEA has changed the requalification interval for the TNG and KNT Welding certificates listed below from 6 months to 12 months. The PEF certificates will remain at 6 months.

  • MEA1479 (192-2401 TNG)
  • MEA1189 (192-2401 KNT)
  • MEA11219 (ASME-0801 TNG)
  • MEA1893 (ASME-0801 KNT)
