Updates to 195 Course Library

September 30, 2015

If you are an EnergyU Administrator and your company uses MEA’s 195 course library, you should have received an email announcing the update to the 195 course library. (If you did not receive an email please contact MEA to be added to the 195 email list.) The new courses will be activated later today, and the old courses will be identified with an “o” prefix (i.e., o195-xxxx). For users to re-qualify using the new courses, administrators will need to enroll users in the new certificate program. Use the UserCertEnrollmentStatus ad hoc report to assist in determining what certificates users will require. Please contact EnergyU Support with any questions or concerns (651-289-9600 x104 or x124).

Change to 195 AOC course

July 28, 2015

The 195-0060 CT-60 General Abnormal Operating Conditions courses were recently updated. We have replaced the previous 195 Abnormal Operating Conditions courses with the new version; the old version has been inactivated. We are discontinuing the two certificates previously associated with 195-0060 TNG and KNT (MEA12001 and MEA11862). We have now associated the new 195-0060 AOC courses with certificates MEA1484 and MEA1485. If your users were previously enrolled in MEA1484 and MEA1485 they will now have access to the new version. If you had the older version of the 195 AOC in curricula, you will need to add the new 195-0060 courses to the curricula.

If a user’s course status is either Passed or Failed, the percent completion status within the course itself will be reset. Any further course progress WILL NOT be reported to the LMS until the course is reset.

IMPORTANT: EnergyU administrators should educate users that after course maintenance occurs, a TNG will not report a new score unless the course is either reset by the certificate program or by the EnergyU administrator. Users wishing to receive a new score date should verify a status of Not started prior to launching the course.

Changes to 192 Courses

February 19, 2015

Beginning this weekend, MEA will be making a change to the older courses within the 192 course library. Currently, these courses contain a link within the training that allows access to the separate knowledge test. This link is being removed in order to standardize course functionality within the 192 library; in addition, this change allows companies to take advantage of the prerequisite function. This change does not affect course content or scoring. KNT courses accessed just like the TNG courses, from the user’s course list. The update will be complete by February 27, 2015.

New Process for Course Upgrades

August 28, 2013

MEA recently released a group of new courses–these are updated TNG and KNT versions of 11 different 192 course titles. An “o” was added to the course and certificate titles of the courses that would be obsolete. In an effort to provide users with the most current training information, and to ease the delivery of newly released courses for administrators, we will be replacing the old courses with the new courses–administrators will not be required to reassign the titles.

Effective September 1, 2013 only the new version will be available.

This change will not require any work by EnergyU administrators. Currently awarded certificates and course scores will remain unaffected, and the new courses will replace the old courses in curricula.

The updated courses have the same user interface as our ASME and Electric course libraries. If your users are not familiar with these courses, they can review the Course Navigation document. There are two main differences in the layout: the Next button location moves from the lower right to the upper right corner and the Tree View at the left changes to a Table of Contents on the right.
